Our servers only ever hold the locked version.
Wasavi's servers store and pass along scrambled text. If someone at Wasavi looked, this is all they'd see.
It's unlocked only inside a sealed vault.
To help you, Wasavi opens your message inside sealed hardware that no person can log in to, running code anyone can inspect. If the code doesn't match what we've published, the vault can't get your key.
Then it's locked again and sent home.
The answer is locked for your family's devices, and the vault forgets everything before helping the next family.
